Complaints Involving an Insurance Company
If your concern involves an insurance company’s decision, policy administration or other insurer-related matter, you may also be directed to the insurance company’s formal complaint process and Complaint Officer.
The insurer can provide you with information about its internal complaint process and, where applicable, a final position letter.
If the matter remains unresolved, additional options may include the OmbudService for Life & Health Insurance (OLHI) or the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), depending on the nature of the complaint.
Regulatory Complaints
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) regulates life and health insurance agents and insurance companies operating in Ontario.
Where appropriate, a consumer may submit a complaint to FSRA concerning possible non-compliance with Ontario insurance regulatory requirements.
